the receiver itself is not actually the part with the serial, it is technically the front sight block, however it is 'permanently' attached thus making it part. however keep in mind that does not mean its the date your rifle was assembled in its current form.
'if the serial number is in the following format, the last 2 digits represent the year made, Y in the example below
